Art Mumbai to bring 94 exhibitors to Mahalaxmi Racecourse from November 12

The fourth Art Mumbai fair will open at Mahalaxmi Racecourse with 73 Indian and 21 international exhibitors.

Art Mumbai returns on November 12 with galleries, foundations, guided walks, talks, performances and late-evening programming. Its organisers say the fair is drawing a broader mix of younger entrepreneurs, professionals, first-time buyers and established collectors.

Art Mumbai’s fourth edition opens at Mahalaxmi Racecourse on November 12 with 94 exhibitors: 73 from India and 21 international participants.

The fair’s co-founders, Minal Vazirani, Dinesh Vazirani, Nakul Dev Chawla and Conor Macklin, launched Art Mumbai in 2023. This year’s theme, *Where Collections Take Shape*, presents collecting as a process of looking, learning and research.

Visitors can attend guided walks, a Speaker Series, performances, music and late-evening programming on Friday and Saturday. The fair will also hold walks for children.

Minal Vazirani said participating galleries now come from 27 cities, up from 10 at the inaugural edition. She said ticket sales have risen 170% since 2023 and VIP ticket sales have increased 250%. International participants include Perrotin, Richard Saltoun and Night Gallery, each appearing at an Indian art fair for the first time.

For first-time buyers, Vazirani suggested starting with prints, works on paper or smaller pieces, and asking galleries about an artwork’s artist, provenance and condition. “Buy something you would be happy to live with,” she said.
