Delhi allows certified green crackers only on November 7 and 8

Delhi residents may burst CSIR-NEERI-certified green firecrackers from 6 am to 7 am and 8 pm to 10 pm on November 7 and 8 only.

The Delhi government has set a limited two-day Diwali window for the sale and use of certified green firecrackers. Crackers are barred near notified silence zones, and the complete ban returns on November 9.

Delhi residents may burst green firecrackers only from 6 am to 7 am and 8 pm to 10 pm on November 7 and 8.

Only CSIR-NEERI-certified green firecrackers may be sold or used. Sealed boxes must carry valid product- and batch-specific QR codes. Sales are permitted only at locations designated by Delhi Police; unauthorised outlets and online sales are prohibited.

Residents cannot burst crackers within 300 metres of hospitals, nursing homes, health centres, old-age homes, educational institutions and other notified silence zones. The East district magistrate’s order prohibits bursting crackers outside the prescribed hours.

District administration officials and Delhi Police will conduct joint patrols and inspections to check unauthorised sales and use. Violations can lead to confiscation and penal action under applicable law and Supreme Court directions.

The Supreme Court permitted approved green crackers in Delhi-NCR around Diwali on November 2 and directed that the complete ban be restored from November 9.
