From mythology-themed installations to diya-painting workshops, malls across Bengaluru are building festive programmes around Deepavali shopping trips.
Bengaluru malls are planning Deepavali décor, workshops, dance events and shopping offers, with programmes set to continue through New Year.
Airavata, the celestial white elephant associated with Indra, is among the mythology-themed installations greeting visitors at Nexus Select Malls in Bengaluru this Deepavali season.
Across its four city properties, Nexus has also installed a flying swan, a peacock, and Ram’s bow and arrow. Orion Malls has chosen a “Timeless Tradition” theme, drawing on the Ramayana alongside lighting and cultural programming tied to Navratri, Dasara, Deepavali and Karnataka Rajyotsava.
The festive calendar also includes activities. Bhartiya Urban is preparing its “Lights of Joy – Pre-Diwali Bollywood Party”, following a Garba Night and month-long shopping festival. Its planned workshops include diya painting, DIY toran-making and Dandiya-stick decoration.
Mantri Group’s installations carry the theme “Reflections of Tradition”, while Phoenix Mall of Asia is pairing illuminated décor with festive collections, shopping experiences and food offerings.
Mall operators say they plan to continue programmes through the Christmas-New Year season.
