UPSRTC plans bus shelters near Jewar-Kishorpur Road in Greater Noida

The proposed stops near the 36-km mark would let Greater Noida–Agra buses leave the expressway briefly to pick up and drop off passengers.

UPSRTC plans to build bus shelters on both sides beneath the Yamuna Expressway near the Jewar-Kishorpur road in Greater Noida. The shelters are intended to replace roadside stops on the expressway, where officials say halting buses creates an accident risk.

Passengers travelling between Greater Noida and Agra could board and alight at planned bus shelters near the Yamuna Expressway’s 36-km mark.

UPSRTC plans to build shelters on both sides beneath the expressway near the Jewar-Kishorpur road. Greater Noida–Agra buses would use existing ramps to leave the expressway, stop at the shelters and rejoin it via the next ramp, Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh said.

Officials said some drivers currently stop along the expressway to pick up or drop off passengers, creating a safety risk. The proposed shelters are intended to serve Agra-bound passengers and travellers heading towards the airport.

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority had opposed a bus stop directly on the expressway on safety grounds. Rajendra Bhati, YEIDA’s general manager for projects, said the authority has identified locations near the Jewar-Kishorpur road and construction will begin soon.
