Residents estimate that more than 100 streetlights are missing, defective or uninstalled across Sushant Lok 2 and 3, leaving several lanes dark after sunset.
The Sushant Lok 2 and 3 RWA says it has sent four reminders over missing and defective streetlights for around six months. MCG says work has been allotted.
At least 30 streetlights are missing from poles in Sushant Lok 2, while residents estimate that 80 to 90 lights in Sushant Lok 3 are defective or were never installed.
Pawan Kumar Yadav, president of the Sushant Lok 2 and 3 RWA, said more than 100 lights across the two phases are non-functional. The RWA has sent four reminders over the issue during the past six months, he said.
Residents said lights removed for repairs have not been reinstalled. Their survey began after complaints accumulated in neighbourhood social-media groups.
Several lanes are dark after sunset, residents said. They also flagged damaged pole foundations. Yadav said some poles could fall and linked part of the problem to underground cables laid around 25 years ago.
An MCG official said the corporation has issued a tender for new lights and allotted the work. MCG is inspecting vendor supplies before accepting them, the official said. Lights already installed but found defective will be repaired.
