Delhi Traffic Police has advised commuters to avoid five East Delhi corridors on October 20 as Ramlila and Ravana Dahan crowds build through the evening.
Delhi Traffic Police may divert traffic from 5pm to 8pm on October 20 on NH-24, Vikas Marg and Roads 56, 57 and 57A.
East Delhi commuters could face diversions from 5pm to 8pm on October 20, with Dussehra crowds expected around Ramlila grounds, fair venues and Ravana Dahan sites.
Delhi Traffic Police has listed NH-24, Roads 56, 57 and 57A, and Vikas Marg as corridors where diversions may be imposed as needed. Stretches of Ghazipur Road, Patparganj Road and Swami Dayanand Marg, along with routes linking Mayur Vihar, Trilokpuri and Shahdara, are also likely to slow during the evening peak.
Motorists have been asked to choose alternative routes where possible, allow extra time and use designated parking rather than parking on the roadside.
For Dussehra arrangements across Delhi NCR, more than 13,000 police personnel have been deployed, including about 10,000 in Delhi. Each of Delhi's 12 major Ravana Dahan sites is to have a fire tender, ambulance and duty magistrate, police said.
