KSRTC has opened 15 bus pick-up points across Bengaluru for Deepavali travellers, shifting some inter-city boarding away from Kempegowda Bus Station in Majestic.
The service began on Friday, November 6. Passengers booking KSRTC tickets can select a pick-up point, allowing those in areas such as Electronics City, Whitefield and Jayanagar to board closer to home rather than travel to a central terminal with luggage.
Majestic and roads around the Central Business District see heavy traffic during festival holidays, when additional buses are pressed into service. KSRTC said the distributed boarding arrangement is intended to reduce the number of buses entering the area and ease pressure on surrounding roads.
The corporation has traditionally run inter-city services from Kempegowda Bus Station, Shanthinagar Bus Station and Mysuru Road Satellite Bus Station. Private operators already use multiple boarding points across the city.
KSRTC is also operating more than 2,000 special buses across Karnataka on November 6 and 7, including services to major towns and taluk centres.
