Overnight showers continued in parts of Delhi as the AQI reached 133 on Friday. The IMD forecasts rain through October 30 and partly cloudy skies from Saturday.

Delhi’s air quality index was 133, in the ‘Moderate’ category, at 4 am on Friday as overnight rain continued in parts of the city and NCR. The reading had remained above 200, in the ‘Poor’ category, on Wednesday and Thursday.

Showers continued overnight around Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station and Jamia Millia Islamia. Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad are likely to see cloudy skies and one or two spells of light to moderate rain through October 30, the India Meteorological Department said. Moderate rain is possible in the morning and forenoon, while some places could receive heavier showers at night.

The IMD issued a yellow alert on October 29 for rain, thunderstorms and lightning across Delhi and neighbouring NCR districts. From October 31, skies may turn partly cloudy. Green alerts are in place for November 1 and 2, when the forecast is mainly clear skies and more stable weather.
