Ranga Shankara’s 2026 festival runs from October 23 to 31, with six debut groups exploring belonging, migration and memory.
Six theatre groups making their Bengaluru debut will take the stage at Ranga Shankara from October 23 to 31 for a festival centred on belonging and the histories people carry with them.
The 2026 edition, themed “Belonging: Through Memory, Migration and Boundaries”, has been curated by Sushma Rao, Surabhi Herur, Sneha Kappanna, Vinay Shastry and Utthana Barighat. Its productions draw on stories of migration, memory, caste, gender, public space and a changing climate.
The line-up includes *Shyok*, a love story set against the 1971 India-Pakistan border; *Aada Aada Lakhav Hai*, about women’s freedom and access to public spaces; and *A Fish Ate My Cat*, which examines family, identity and memory. *Porattu* draws from the folk form Porat Nataka to centre people pushed to the margins, while *Chevittorma* follows migration and survival as a familiar landscape disappears.
The curators said the festival’s collective approach reflects its theme, bringing different theatrical languages and lived experiences to one stage. Tickets are available on BookMyShow.
