Bengaluru records 1,84,549 Ganesh idol immersions across five corporations

West City Corporation accounted for 1,20,000 of the 1,84,549 Ganesh idol immersions recorded across Bengaluru’s five city corporations on Monday.

Central City Corporation recorded 28,860 immersions, followed by North with 16,857, South with 10,372 and East with 8,460, the Greater Bengaluru Authority said.

The immersions took place in mobile tanks and permanent or temporary ponds at lake premises. The GBA arranged facilities at 42 lake premises and deployed 659 mobile tanks across the five corporations, assigning the tanks ward-wise.

For organisers seeking installation permissions, the authority set up 122 single-window centres: 30 in North, 29 in South, 24 in Central, 22 in West and 17 in East. Nodal officers were assigned to guide residents on installation and immersion arrangements and oversee the facilities.
