La Panthera has opened at Mumbai’s Eros Building with dishes including shio koji pork belly, txangurro and ceviche. A meal for two with alcohol costs about ₹5,000.
La Panthera has opened at the Eros Building in South Mumbai, with chef Manuel Olveira creating a menu that differs substantially from the restaurant’s BKC outlet.
“I want to give different at different places,” Olveira said. The South Mumbai menu draws on European cooking, with Spanish elements in dishes such as Classic Gilda—Manchego, green peppers and olives—and pan con tomate with Spanish anchovies.
The menu includes shio koji pork belly, marinated for 36 hours and slow-cooked for another 24, served with cabbage, apple purée and coffee-infused shio jus. Other dishes include txangurro, baked crab with butter and garlic; gambas al ajillo with homemade sourdough; New Zealand lamb chops; and a two-sheet spinach lasagne.
Cocktails include the Panthera Negroni, made with Kalamata olive brine, gin, Campari and peach liqueur, and a cocoa-infused boulevardier variation. Desserts include apple pie with apple-brandy ice cream, burnt vanilla olive-oil gelato, and mascarpone and black fig gelato. The average bill for two, including alcohol, is ₹5,000.
