Mumbai Metro Line 3 added 46 weekday trips from November 2, reducing peak-hour train intervals to four minutes and 25 seconds.
Aqua Line commuters will see 46 more weekday Metro trips between Aarey JVLR and Cuffe Parade, taking the daily total from 291 to 337 services.
The revised timetable took effect on November 2. During peak hours, trains are scheduled every four minutes and 25 seconds, compared with every four minutes and 50 seconds earlier.
Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation said the additional services are intended to ease crowding and reduce waiting times on Line 3. The corridor recorded average weekday ridership of 2,24,602 passengers in September, while average weekend ridership was 1,31,138 passengers a day.
Since full-route operations began, MMRC increased weekday services in stages: first to 271, then to 282 on June 23, and to 291 on September 28. Weekend services will continue on a separate timetable. MMRC said it will monitor ridership and operational requirements before making further changes.
