KSEAB will prepare common question papers for Karnataka’s 2027 I PU annual exams. Colleges will receive them digitally and evaluate answer scripts locally.
Bengaluru’s first-year pre-university students will write 2027 annual examinations with question papers set centrally for colleges across Karnataka.
The school education department has asked the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) to prepare the papers and a common timetable for all PU colleges. The department of school education (PU), rather than KSEAB, will continue to conduct the examinations.
Question papers will be sent to colleges digitally on the day of each exam. Practical examinations for I PU students will follow district-level timetables.
Colleges will evaluate answer scripts, after which the respective district deputy directors must review and approve results before publication. School Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa said the arrangement would allow the department to assess education quality from the I PU stage and work towards improving II PU pass percentages.
The common-paper system is scheduled to begin with the 2027 annual examinations.
