22 Faridabad tourists injured after bus falls into gorge near Mukteshwar

Twenty-two people from Faridabad were injured after their bus lost control and fell into a gorge near Satbunga, close to Mukteshwar in Uttarakhand’s Nainital district.

The bus was carrying 21 tourists and its driver. The group had visited Mukteshwar and was returning towards Bhawali when the crash occurred.

Police, the National Disaster Response Force, State Disaster Response Force, district administration teams and local residents joined the rescue operation. Rescuers formed a human chain to bring the injured passengers out of the gorge before ambulances took them to a hospital in Bhawali.

Bhawali Chief Medical Officer Ravikant Semwal was present at the site during the operation. The extent of the passengers’ injuries was not stated.
