63 Gurugram school buses fail safety audit; 20 schools get notices

Gurugram authorities have identified safety shortcomings in 63 school buses after inspecting 941 vehicles operating for schools across the city.

The audit assessed buses against 29 safety norms. Following the findings, notices were served on 20 schools linked to the vehicles with deficiencies.

Schools have been given two weeks to rectify the issues. The buses will then face fresh checks, with further action possible if the shortcomings remain unresolved.

For families, the inspection is a reminder to check how their child’s school manages transport safety, including whether vehicles and operators meet required norms. The next round of inspections will determine whether the identified buses are brought into compliance or face action.
