Delhi, Gurugram events on Aug 15-16: concerts, theatre and kites
Independence Day weekend brings concerts, theatre, kite festivities and food events across Delhi and Gurugram on August 15 and 16.
Delhi and Gurugram will host concerts, theatre, kite festivities, chess and Independence Day-themed dining events on August 15 and 16.
Delhi-NCR’s Independence Day weekend will move from kite-themed festivities in Old Delhi to concerts at Dwarka’s Yashobhoomi Convention Centre.
Haveli Dharampura near Jama Masjid will host Patangbaazi: An Independence Day Festival from 4pm on Saturday, while Eros Hotel in Nehru Place has a Saturday tricolour dining programme beginning at 11am. Gurugram’s Independence Day Chess Celebration is set for noon at Cut Coffee Paste in Sector 54.
For live performances, Sonu Nigam’s Bossitivity is scheduled at Yashobhoomi at 7.30pm on Saturday; Papon performs there at 7pm on Sunday. Chirag Panjwani will play at Apparel House, Epicentre in Sector 44, Gurugram, at 7pm Saturday, followed by Aryme’s Midnight Freedom at Room XO in Sector 65 from 10pm.
Theatre options include Gagan Damama Bajyo at Lok Kala Manch on Lodhi Road at 7pm Saturday, and External Affairs at Shri Ram Centre in Mandi House on Sunday, with shows at 5pm and 7.30pm. Nayab Midha’s Rajkumari India Tour is scheduled at Talkatora Stadium at 6pm Sunday.
