Gurugram advises work from home after 70 mm of rain

Gurugram received 70 mm of rain by 1.30 pm, prompting the district administration to ask offices to allow work from home and schools to conduct classes online.

Waterlogging affected Rajiv Chowk, IFFCO Chowk, Railway Road, Sector 5, Old Delhi Road, Mehrauli Road and Basai Road. Students walking home moved towards raised bus stops as muddy water covered parts of the road, while some motorists left vehicles stranded on flooded stretches.

Traffic slowed on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway. Commuters said the journey from Signature Tower to Hero Honda Chowk, which normally takes about 15 minutes, took at least 50 minutes. A section near Cyber Hub, opposite Gateway Tower Metro station, was submerged.

Sheetla Mata Road was among the worst-hit locations.
