Mumbai–Hanoi flights: Akasa starts September 4, IndiGo October 25

Akasa Air will launch non-stop Mumbai–Hanoi flights on September 4, with four weekly services between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and Vietnam’s capital.

The airline will operate flights on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. IndiGo plans to begin a daily non-stop Mumbai–Hanoi service on October 25, connecting Mumbai with Noi Bai International Airport.

The services add direct options for travellers heading to northern Vietnam, including Hanoi and onward destinations such as Ha Long Bay and Ninh Binh. VietJet Air and Vietnam Airlines had previously operated direct Mumbai–Hanoi services.

Passenger traffic between India and Vietnam reached 11.06 lakh in 2025, including 4.09 lakh passengers in the final quarter, according to Directorate General of Civil Aviation data. IndiGo already operates direct flights to Hanoi from Delhi and Kolkata.
