Bandra bookstore hosts late-night reading event for 100 readers

About 100 readers gathered at a Bandra bookstore on Saturday night for a reading event that ran from 8pm to 12.30am.

The programme included Book Charades, a shelf-search game described as a “book heist”, and a 30-to-35-minute session in which participants read books of their choice.

Phorum Pandya, a media professional from Juhu, said the event offered a chance to meet people who could discuss books and share recommendations. Prakhar Sachdeo, a sports content creator from Navi Mumbai, said the silent reading session was his favourite part of the evening.

ReadAKitab co-founder Ekta Bhandari said the free reading community has more than 33,000 readers. Co-founder Anurag Kothari said the group plans to take the late-night format to other cities and more venues in Mumbai.
