Bengaluru speed-dating event uses games to start conversations

On a rainy Bengaluru evening, participants at a Life.Styled Club speed-dating event put their phones aside for introductions, games and playful dares.

The format allowed participants to meet several people and get a sense of their personalities in person rather than through dating profiles. Content creator Sim Pereira, who had recently moved to Bengaluru, said the setting helped her step outside her comfort zone and meet people beyond familiar friend circles.

Financial consultant Swarna, attending her first such event in Bengaluru after going to social gatherings in Pune, said the activities made conversations with strangers flow more naturally. Startup founder Aryan described the session as a casual way to work through nervousness, particularly for introverts.

The event did not promise participants a date by the end of the evening. Several attendees said they were also looking to make friends and network. Small World was listed as an event partner.
