Bengaluru Cantonment station redevelopment expected by December 2026

Bengaluru Cantonment Railway Station’s ₹485-crore redevelopment is expected to finish by December 2026, Union Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna said on Thursday.

Somanna made the announcement at KSR Bengaluru Railway Station during Seva Diwas celebrations, where railway employees were honoured for their work.

He said Yesvantpur Railway Station is also being redeveloped at an estimated cost of ₹480 crore. Both projects are planned around Karnataka’s future requirements, he said.

Somanna added that the Union government was fully funding road overbridges and road underbridges to speed up their construction.

Ashutosh Kumar Singh, Divisional Railway Manager for the Bengaluru division, said service in the railways was a year-round responsibility. The event marked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
