Bengaluru customer says he found a smoked beedi with a pav bhaji delivery

Priyam Tahabilder says a pav bhaji order delivered to him in Bengaluru came with an unwanted extra: a fully smoked beedi lying over the chopped onions served alongside the dish.

Tahabilder posted a photograph of the plate on social media and wrote, “Ordered pav bhaji from Zomato and got a beedi for free. It was fully smoked though.” The post drew responses questioning food-handling practices, alongside jokes about an “extra smoke flavor”.

He later said Zomato’s customer support team contacted him after his complaint and offered a ₹100 coupon for his next order. The restaurant that prepared the food was not identified in the post.

Food-delivery platforms arrange orders and delivery, while restaurants prepare and package meals; one social-media response called for the restaurant’s name to be disclosed so responsibility could be fixed.
