Bengaluru post debates ₹2 lakh monthly salary and career risk

Dixit said the income is not too little, but can feel secure enough that people may hesitate before taking a new role, starting a venture or changing careers. He argued that some people begin protecting an existing salary rather than building skills or pursuing postponed plans.

Commenters focused on household budgets. One said the risk begins when monthly spending rises to match income, leaving little room to save or change direction. Another listed rent, money sent home, groceries, fitness and weekend expenses, and estimated that a person earning ₹2 lakh in hand could save close to ₹1 lakh a month.

Other comments referred to layoffs and entrepreneurship, noting that a comfortable salary may not be permanent.
