Bengaluru to restrict vehicles on five flyovers from September 4

Commuters using Bengaluru’s flyovers will see new vehicle restrictions from September 4, with the Electronic City elevated corridor joining the changes on September 11.

On the BGS flyover, heavy goods vehicles will be barred altogether. Light goods vehicles cannot use it from 7am to 11am and from 4pm to 10pm. The Peenya elevated corridor will prohibit passenger and goods autorickshaws, while medium and heavy goods vehicles will be restricted during those same peak-hour windows.

Two-wheelers and autorickshaws will be barred from the International Airport flyover. Goods vehicles there will face restrictions from 6am to 10pm. The Double-Decker flyover will not allow heavy goods vehicles.

On the Electronic City elevated corridor, goods vehicles will be banned between 6am and 10pm, while two-wheelers and autorickshaws will not be allowed. The restrictions are intended to improve road safety and reduce congestion on these corridors.

For airport-bound travellers, the International Airport flyover rule means two-wheelers and autorickshaws will need to use alternate routes from September 4.
