BEST adds night buses on nine routes for Ganeshotsav crowds

BEST will run additional night buses on nine routes from September 14 to 24, giving Ganeshotsav visitors another way to travel between pandal areas after dark.

The services will operate on E-8, E-21, E-25, E-42, E-44, 51, 64, 66 and 69. They will link Colaba with north-western parts of Mumbai and pass through festival hubs including Girgaon, Lalbaug, Parel and Dadar.

BEST said its regular services are generally adequate during the day, but public mandals draw larger crowds at night, particularly after the immersion of Gauri-Ganpati idols. The added buses are intended to reduce reliance on private vehicles during those hours.

The service period runs until the eve of Anant Chaturdashi. Ganeshotsav immersion processions are scheduled for September 25, when large numbers of devotees are expected to travel across the city.
