‘Between Block and Void’ brings contemporary ceramics to South Point Mall

‘Between Block and Void’, a three-day exhibition of ceramic work by the Shambhala Collective, opens at Art Incept in South Point Mall, Gurugram, on September 4.

Presented by Shambhala Art and Incept Studio, the exhibition includes functional pottery, wall art, ceramic objects and sculptural work. The pieces will be displayed in lifestyle settings rather than a conventional gallery arrangement.

Curated by Devika Sehgal, founder of Shambhala Art, the show takes its title from *kurinuki*, a Japanese technique in which makers carve a vessel from a solid block of clay instead of forming it on a pottery wheel.

The exhibition uses the process as a starting point to consider handmade ceramics as everyday objects and artworks within contemporary interiors. It includes work by emerging artists and first-time exhibitors.
