BMC Modak Mahotsav deliveries to start in Mumbai on September 14

Steamed ukadiche modaks and fried modaks made by women’s self-help groups will begin reaching registered Mumbai homes from September 14 under the BMC’s Modak Mahotsav 2026.

The civic body has organised the festival-time service for Ganeshotsav, when demand for modaks rises across the city. Deliveries will be available only within Mumbai and will continue through the Ganeshotsav period.

Residents seeking doorstep delivery must register online at least one day before their order. The modaks are being prepared by women’s self-help groups supported by the BMC.

Dr Prachi Jambhekar, Director (Planning), said the initiative is intended to help residents access the festive sweet while giving women entrepreneurs a wider market for their products.
