New Delhi BRICS business meetings focus on infrastructure and skills

Business representatives from Russia, Egypt and other BRICS Plus countries met in New Delhi on Friday to explore partnerships in infrastructure, energy, technology, agriculture and skills development.

Alexander Kokov, founder and chief executive of Russia-based GSBI Ltd, said business-to-business meetings had allowed entrepreneurs to identify possible areas of cooperation. He said conferences and exhibitions could help translate discussions between BRICS economies into commercial projects.

Alina Singh, deputy director of Russia’s Skills Development Agency, described the grouping’s mix of cultures and experience as a strength. “Member countries can share their experiences and expertise, learn from each other and promote collective development,” she said.

Paroma Munshi Rebello of Pristine Logistics & Infraprojects Ltd said her working group was focused on infrastructure and investment. Islam Salem of Egypt-based Iskra Maiden for Investment and Agricultural Development said private companies would be central to turning opportunities in agriculture, technology and finance into partnerships.

The meetings took place as New Delhi hosts the 2026 BRICS summit.
