Delhi: Candlelit New Orleans jazz at Piano Man on August 16

Candles lit Piano Man at Eldeco Centre on August 16 as singers and musicians performed a New Orleans-inspired jazz set.

The Jazz Room: A Journey to the Heart of New Orleans featured vocals and instrumental numbers, drawing on musical traditions associated with the US city. The programme combined arranged pieces with improvisation in a candlelit setting.

Pranjal, a spokesperson for Candlelight, said the Delhi response had been strong. He said the initiative works with local artists and aims to make Western classical, Indian classical and 1920s New Orleans jazz more accessible.

Organisers expect to add more Delhi dates later this year.
