Cry Baby musical set for Bengaluru shows from September 5

Leila Alvares of CAUSE Foundation will stage *Cry Baby*, a Broadway musical based on the 1990 film, at two Bengaluru venues this month.

The first performance is at Chowdiah Memorial Hall on September 5 at 7.30pm. A matinee follows at the same venue on September 6 at 11.30am. The final Bengaluru performance is scheduled at MLR Convention Centre in Whitefield on September 11 at 7.30pm.

The musical follows a high-school romance and uses a score influenced by 1950s rock-and-roll, alongside physical comedy. According to the organisers, the production will use LED screens for much of its set while retaining hand-painted background scenes.
