Central Delhi traffic curbs from 2pm to 8.30pm for BRICS routes

Traffic heading towards Mathura Road and Tilak Marg will not be allowed beyond Dinesh Nandini Dalmia Chowk from 2pm to 8.30pm on September 11, as central Delhi routes are regulated for BRICS Summit delegate movement.

Delhi Traffic Police said it will regulate traffic at 22 diversion points and impose restrictions on more than 35 roads used for movement to Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan. The routes include Mathura Road, Sardar Patel Marg, Teen Murti Marg, Akbar Road, Janpath, Ashoka Road, Barakhamba Road, Tolstoy Marg and Shanti Path.

Commercial vehicles will not be allowed past Ram Charan Aggarwal Chowk towards W-Point. Police have also planned diversions at Mir Dard Chowk, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, Patel Chowk, the RML Hospital roundabout and Vande Mataram Marg. Signs at junctions, including ITO, advise motorists not to continue beyond restricted points.

Government offices and schools are closed for the day. Commuters travelling through central Delhi should allow extra time, avoid the listed corridors where possible and consider public transport.
