Noida: CRRI tests MP-3 Road underpass after pothole complaints

Potholes at Noida’s MP-3 Road underpass have prompted the Noida Authority to ask the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) to test the resurfacing material.

The underpass is at the crossing of Sectors 51, 52, 71 and 72. Sector 73 resident Monika Singh said repeated complaints had not yet brought a fix and that residents hoped action would follow the inspection report.

A CRRI team visited the site last week to examine how the mastic asphalt has bonded with the underpass surface. The team is also studying the effect of continuous traffic, braking on the slope and acceleration on the incline.

AK Arora, general manager at the Noida Authority, said motorists were finding the stretch difficult to use and that the authority had sought tests of the material. The authority will decide corrective measures after reviewing the test results and site conditions.
