Dasna NH-9 traffic revamp expected to start by September 15

Nearly 3 lakh passenger car units use the Dasna stretch of NH-9 each day, and NHAI expects a new traffic arrangement there to begin operating by September 15.

The agency plans to close an underpass where Hapur-bound traffic currently merges with vehicles heading towards the city. Traffic heading towards the city will instead continue towards Hapur, take a U-turn near Dasna and return on the Delhi-bound side of NH-9. Vehicles arriving from Hapur will be directed to make a U-turn near Bamheta.

Near Manipal Hospital, NHAI plans to widen the U-turn from NH-9 towards the city by 15 metres. The existing turn is narrow, and traffic merging from the Delhi-Meerut Expressway with NH-9 can cause queues to extend onto the expressway. NHAI also plans to merge the service lane to create an additional lane on NH-9 at this stretch.

The agency also plans concrete barriers at Dasna sections where NH-9 and the Delhi-Meerut Expressway are not physically separated.
