Delhi: DDA plans over 20 meetings on Master Plan 2047

More than 20 meetings are planned over the next three months as the Delhi Development Authority begins outreach on the newly notified Master Plan for Delhi 2047.

The DDA said the sessions, directed by Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu, will bring together MPs, MLAs, government agencies, service providers, industry chambers, resident welfare associations, housing societies, landowners and professional bodies. The meetings will explain provisions of MPD-2047 and coordinate its implementation.

Industry consultations will include CII, FICCI, PHDCCI, ASSOCHAM and DSIIDC. They will cover industrial development and land availability. Architects, planners, private developers and professional institutions will discuss transit-oriented development, high-density corridors and land pooling.

For residents, the agenda includes redevelopment of group housing societies, in-situ slum redevelopment, mixed-use development, commercial-centre redevelopment, and measures to ease congestion and improve mobility. The DDA also plans discussions on low-density areas, Yamuna rejuvenation, Delhi’s blue-green network and heritage conservation.

The DDA said it will hold the sessions over the next three months.
