Deepender Hooda targets Haryana government over Gurugram’s civic troubles

Congress MP Deepender Hooda used a rural block Congress conference in Badshapur to attack the BJP-led Haryana government over Gurugram’s roads, waterlogging, garbage, traffic congestion and pollution.

Hooda said the BJP could no longer blame the Congress for the city’s condition when the party governs at the Centre and in Haryana, and holds the Gurugram MP and MLA seats. “Today, wherever you go in Gurgaon, roads are broken, water is accumulated and there are traffic jams,” he said, calling the city a “jal-gram”.

He alleged that garbage dumps, potholes and damaged roads had become routine, and referred to an alleged “garbage scam”. Hooda also criticised Gurugram MP and Union minister Rao Inderjit Singh for describing the civic problems as inherited from the Congress.

The MP raised the Indian National Defence University project at Binola, alleging it was shifted to Gandhinagar, Gujarat. He said Haryana Congress MPs would wear black clothes when entering Parliament in the next session to highlight Gurugram’s problems.
