Delhi airport ranks 28th in OAG’s 2026 global connectivity list
Indira Gandhi International Airport is the only Indian airport in OAG’s top 50 global megahubs list this year.
Delhi’s IGIA rose 11 places to rank 28th in OAG’s 2026 global megahubs list, measuring flight connections and transfer times.
Indira Gandhi International Airport has moved to 28th place in OAG’s 2026 list of the world’s most connected megahubs, up from 39th last year.
IGIA is the only Indian airport in the global top 50. The assessment measures direct domestic and international connections available at an airport, along with connection times. It is not a ranking of passenger traffic.
Istanbul took the top spot this year, ahead of London Heathrow. Amsterdam, Kuala Lumpur and Chicago O’Hare followed.
Delhi also placed ninth among the top 25 low-cost-carrier megahubs, while Mumbai ranked 11th in that category. IndiGo has a large presence at both airports.
China Southern is scheduled to begin daily Delhi–Guangzhou flights on September 21.
