Delhi starts 2027-28 Budget process; proposals due by mid-October

Delhi’s Finance Department has started preparing the government’s Budget Estimates for 2027-28, asking departments to send their funding proposals by mid-October.

The exercise will also revise the 2026-27 spending plan. Departments must submit Revised Estimates for the current financial year and Budget Estimates for the next year in the prescribed format, the department said in a circular.

Officials have been told to base their requests on a realistic assessment of the funds they can use during the financial year. These estimates will guide discussions on allocations before the final budget is prepared.

Pre-budget and revised-estimate meetings are set to begin in the last week of October. The Finance Department will communicate individual meeting dates and timings separately.
