Delhi cabinet clears 250-bed trauma and super-speciality block at GTB Hospital

Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital in Dilshad Garden is set to get a 250-bed super-speciality-cum-trauma block after the Delhi cabinet approved its construction on Tuesday.

The planned addition combines super-speciality and trauma facilities in one block at the east Delhi hospital. The cabinet approval places the project’s stated cost at ₹244.

For patients using GTB Hospital, the proposal is for a new 250-bed block rather than an announced change to the hospital’s existing services. The approval covers construction of the facility; a construction schedule has not been announced.

The next step will be translating the cabinet clearance into work on the planned block at the Dilshad Garden campus.
