Delhi CNG price rises by ₹3.89 per kg from 6am on August 29

Delhi’s CNG rate rose by ₹3.89 per kg at 6am on August 29, increasing fuel costs for the city’s CNG-run autos, taxis, private cars and transport fleets.

Indraprastha Gas Limited said it made the revision to partly absorb higher input costs while maintaining supply. The company linked the pressure to a sharp rise in spot liquefied natural gas prices, amid conflict in West Asia that has disrupted LNG cargo movement through the Strait of Hormuz.

IGL said India’s rising demand for CNG has increased its reliance on imported spot LNG to bridge supply requirements. It added that it would continue to optimise sourcing costs to retain CNG as an economical fuel option.

For drivers and fleet operators, the change takes effect immediately at CNG stations across Delhi.
