Delhi: Commonwealth Games medallists welcomed at IGI Airport

Medallists from India’s 2026 Commonwealth Games contingent were welcomed at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on August 4, following the conclusion of the Glasgow Games.

India finished fourth in the medal table with 39 medals: 13 gold, 17 silver and nine bronze. Family members, friends and supporters gathered at the airport, where some athletes were greeted with flower garlands.

Those arriving in Delhi included judo gold medallists Asmita Dey and Harsh Singh. Boxing gold medallists Preeti Pawar, Sakshi Chaudhary and Priya Ghanghas were also among those welcomed, along with boxing silver medallists Jadumani Singh Mandengbam and Narender.

Para-athletes Sharmila Dhankhar, who won gold, and Shilpa K Shyla, who won bronze, also arrived in Delhi. Both competed in the women’s F57 shot put event.
