Delhi Contemporary Art Week brings six women-led galleries to Bikaner House

At Bikaner House, the ninth Delhi Contemporary Art Week brings six women-led galleries into one showcase, with artworks that move from hand-woven Kota Doria and stitched brass wire to fibreglass, charcoal and pastel on aluminium sheets.

On view until September 5, the presentations take up climate and ecology, migration, urbanisation, identity, memory and lived experience. Exhibit 320 is showing work across painting, drawing, textile, print, sculpture and mixed media, while Blueprint12’s *Ways of Being Seen* examines the body through intimacy, vulnerability, memory and resistance.

Gallery Espace draws on miniature traditions in *Presenting Abundance*; Latitude 28’s *Meridian* brings together artists and methods across geographies and generations. Vadehra Art Gallery considers place as a social, cultural, geographical and psychological experience in *A Geography of Tender Things*. Shrine Empire’s presentation engages with ecological crises, displacement, migration and identity politics.

For visitors considering a first purchase, Vadehra Art Gallery director Roshini Vadehra said collectors are not simply choosing by an artist’s age or career stage, but by “what their story is and how they want to collect.”
