Delhi rain forecast to continue for next two days

Rainfall is likely to continue in Delhi for the next two days, the India Meteorological Department has said.

The forecast places the capital within a broader spell of wet weather expected across parts of north and east India. A low-pressure area has formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas, while a cyclonic circulation over northwestern Uttar Pradesh extends up to about 3.1km above sea level.

A trough running from northern Haryana towards the Bay of Bengal system, through Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand, is also part of the weather pattern cited by the agency. The monsoon trough continues towards the Bay of Bengal.

The IMD did not specify a rainfall warning category or likely rainfall intensity for Delhi in this forecast. Residents can expect wet conditions to persist over the next two days.
