Delhi government plans Bill for unified digital property records

The Delhi government is working on a new Bill aimed at creating a consolidated digital record of all properties in the city.

The proposed framework would also issue Aadhaar-like identification cards to properties. The Chief Minister’s Office said the measure is being developed as part of an effort to organise property information in a unified digital system.

For Delhi residents, the proposal could eventually change how property-related records are identified and accessed. It may be particularly relevant to owners, buyers, tenants and others who need to deal with land or property documentation.
