Delhi-Kathmandu bus services paused on Aug 28-29 after Nepal floods

Delhi-Kathmandu Maitri Bus Sewa departures scheduled for August 28 have been paused after flash floods disrupted road connectivity in Nepal.

The Delhi Transport Corporation said an official order had halted the service for two days because road transport on the National Highway along the Delhi-Kathmandu route in Nepal had been completely shut. A service scheduled to be operated by a Nepali bus on August 29 has also been held.

The international service, introduced by the Delhi government in 2014, leaves Delhi at 10am, travels through Uttar Pradesh and crosses into Nepal at the Sonauli check-post near Gorakhpur.

Passengers booked on the affected departures should check with DTC before making travel plans.
