The Delhi government has reserved the option to change the July 31, 2029 maturity date for recurring deposits under the Lakshmi Yojana after a two-year review.

Eligible women aged 21 to 60 are set to receive ₹2,500 a month from September 1 under two deposit options. The Council of Ministers can revise the recurring-deposit maturity date after reviewing the scheme, which began on August 1.

Women enrolled in Delhi’s Lakshmi Yojana will initially have their recurring deposits mature on July 31, 2029, but that date can be changed after the scheme completes two years.

Eligible women aged 21 to 60 are due to receive ₹2,500 a month from September 1. Under one option, ₹1,500 is placed in a recurring deposit and ₹1,000 is transferred to a Central Bank Digital Currency wallet. That wallet cannot be used for items on the scheme’s negative list, including alcohol, tobacco, narcotic drugs, lottery tickets, gambling and betting services. Under the other option, the full ₹2,500 goes into a recurring deposit.

Both deposits currently carry the same July 2029 maturity date. The Women and Child Development Department’s notification allows the Council of Ministers to alter it after an assessment and review two years after the August 1 launch.

Applicants without Aadhaar can register using an enrolment slip, where available, and another identity document such as a PAN card, ration card, voter ID, passport or driving licence. District offices will facilitate Aadhaar enrolment for those who have not yet signed up, an issue that followed registration queues and document hurdles.
