Delhi records 785 PARIVARTAN vehicle replacement registrations

Delhi has recorded 785 of the first 1,357 registrations under PARIVARTAN, a central scheme to replace older commercial trucks and buses with cleaner vehicles.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is targeting 230,000 registrations within a year, including 25,000 by the end of October. The scheme covers replacement of BS-IV and older trucks and buses with BS-VI or electric vehicles.

Officials said the Centre and states would share the cost of incentives, giving beneficiaries an effective 25-30% discount on a new vehicle.

Of the registrations so far, 1,094 are trucks and 263 are buses. Haryana has recorded 423 registrations, Rajasthan 93 and Uttar Pradesh 56. Individual owners account for 651 registrations.

The scheme’s digital portal is designed to combine eligibility checks, vehicle scrapping, financing and incentive claims in one workflow. It links databases including VAHAN, Digi ELV and V-Scrap. The ministry said it had asked Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan to expand outreach as it works towards the end-October registration target.
