Delhi Metro logs record 82.45 lakh boardings during DTC strike
Delhi Metro recorded its highest-ever daily passenger boardings on Thursday as the ongoing DTC bus strike pushed more commuters onto the rail network.
The network registered 82.45 lakh passenger boardings, with the Yellow Line carrying the highest volume among Metro corridors. DMRC increased train trips to manage the rush and said enhanced services would continue during the disruption.
Delhi Metro recorded 82.45 lakh passenger boardings on Thursday, its highest daily figure yet, as commuters shifted to the rail network during the continuing DTC bus strike.
The Yellow Line saw the largest number of boardings among Metro corridors. DMRC added train trips to handle the higher passenger movement and said it would continue enhanced services while the disruption persists.
The surge follows the bus drivers’ strike that had already prompted Metro to plan 20 additional trips. For commuters who usually depend on DTC buses, the change has meant heavier demand across Metro stations and trains, particularly on the Yellow Line.
