Delhi-NCR can expect light rain and cloudy skies from Friday

Light rain is likely in Delhi from Friday onwards, the India Meteorological Department has forecast, with generally cloudy skies expected over the city.

For Delhi-NCR residents, that could mean damp commutes and intermittent showers rather than continuous rain at the start of the period. The forecast also leaves open the possibility of heavier rainfall later on.

The wider weather system is expected to bring heavy to very heavy rain to parts of eastern, central and southern India, while thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are forecast in several states. Delhi’s forecast is comparatively milder, centred on cloud cover and light rain from Friday.
