Delhi opens Shalimar Bagh worker centre, organ-donation pledge portal

Workers in Shalimar Bagh can seek help with government registrations, renewals, document verification and welfare schemes at the Namo Shramik Seva Kendra, inaugurated by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on September 17. A rest area for gig workers opened alongside the facilitation centre.

Gupta said the centre would provide information on application status, welfare schemes and claim-related services, reducing the need for workers to visit multiple government offices. The launch is part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, scheduled to run from September 17 to October 17.

At the Delhi Secretariat, the Health and Family Welfare Department launched an online portal through which Delhi residents can pledge to donate organs. The department also made the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation operational at G.B. Pant Hospital to coordinate organ and tissue donation and transplantation.
