Delhi Police seize 106 kg charas, arrest four in alleged Nepal supply case

Delhi Police said they recovered 106.25 kg of charas and arrested four people in an alleged drug supply network linked to Nepal after an investigation that ran for about six weeks.

The investigation began on June 29, when police said they recovered 8.598 kg of charas from a residence in Kotla Mubarakpur and arrested Bharat Thapa, 32, Govind Budha, 32, and Jyoti Pun Magar, 50. Police said subsequent surveillance, financial analysis and local intelligence led them to Roshni Magar, 32, whom they also arrested, and to a storage and distribution site in Wazirabad.

A raid at the Wazirabad site on August 12 yielded 97.652 kg of charas in 13 plastic bags, along with a mixing machine and packing material, police said. Investigators valued the total seizure at around ₹109 crore.

Police allege that consignments were sourced in Nepal, moved by road through the Sonauli border and then broken into smaller packets in Delhi. They said orders were allegedly coordinated on Telegram, while autorickshaws and bike taxis were used for local deliveries. Investigators are examining financial links and seeking to identify other alleged suppliers, transporters, financiers and distributors.
